"I can’t thank my instructors enough for the changes in my thinking and my life.

As a graduate student from Motive-Action, I think this place is a gift to young people like me that want to do something different with their lives, and are tired of dead-end jobs, and who love cars. I’ve changed a lot, and I believe it is a good change. All of the instructions made me believe in myself again -- at first I didn’t think it was going to happen. I think that after a while of working in places we don’t like we start to see ourselves in a negative light. That’s the main reason I want to thank the instructors, and the program."

"This was a huge stepping-stone for me and I am very thankful for it.

My experience with Motive-Action was a challenging one. As a student without funding or job at the time it was quite difficult to keep my head above water at home, and maintain a grade I could be proud of. The support from the staff at Motive-Action was second to none. I was offered odd jobs to put a little money in my pocket when I couldn’t afford to buy so much as a lunch. I was always offered words of wisdom when it came to my own vehicle and keeping it on the road, and also stiff words to bring me to my senses when I thought I was involved with too much to keep going. Thanks to Mike, Jon, and Kevin I graduated with a 98.4 average, I have had a job since the day I graduated, and I make pretty good money for right now. Also I thank you for the experience of the SWLL classes which taught us about how to handle ourselves professionally in the work environment, be it racism, shop etiquette, or just how to show up and be ready and willing to face any situation an employer may put you in and handle it without getting upset--this course was an eye opener for most people on how life is in the real world and how to get up and dust yourself off when things don’t seem to be going your way.

The Motive-Action course was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I still believe I would have never gotten my foot in the door if it wasn’t for this program. I again thank the staff for everything from the shop time to the one-on-one classes I was offered to catch up to the others because of my lack of interest in high school. This was a huge stepping-stone for me and I am very thankful for it. Karl, Kevin, Mike, Jon, and Dennis you guys make Motive-Action what it is so keep up the good work and I hope Motive-Action is open for another hundred years to get people like me into places where they belong."

– Dale Morgan, Penske Mechanic

"The whole experience was positive.

I was lucky to be accepted into Motive-Action. I learned many things while enrolled. However, much of what I learned had little to do with mechanics. The life skills taught in SWLL helped me to become a better person and a more effective part of today's workforce. As an older student I never would have guessed that these classes would have applied to me but that prejudice turned out to be much to my chagrin. Any monkey can turn a wrench, but SWLL, plus the math and reason/logic type courses plus the safety teachings, I feel, are an integral part of producing new recruits for the workforce. The whole experience was positive. The instructors were top-notch and I feel that it would have been impossible for me to enter this trade without the help and opportunities provided by Motive Action."

– Robb Mitchell, HET Apprentice

"Motive-Action Training Foundation is a school that opens doors for those in need. It gives them the motivation to reach for their dreams and embrace their goals for the future. My life has forever changed because of my time spent in this program. I am truly grateful."

– Lisa Endersby, 4th Year Automotive Apprentice, Shaganappi Chev Olds
