Is there a lot of homework?
Generally there is not a lot of homework. However if you need to improve your English or your math to come up to employer expectations you may need to do additional work.
Can I work part-time while I am in training?
Yes – to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
What are the hours of training?
On-site – 30 hours per week 8:30 to 3:30, Monday to Friday
Work Experience- 40 hours per week 8:00 to 4:30, Monday to Friday
Will I need tools?
No. The only things you need are steel-toe capped boots, coveralls and plenty of enthusiasm. However, you must think about purchasing tools for when you start working full time after you graduation. Cost of tools is about $1000.

What is apprenticeship?
Apprenticeship is learning a skilled trade on the job from a professional tradesperson with the goal of obtaining your certification in your chosen trade. You can find additional information on apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs at www.tradesecrets.gov.ab.ca.
What qualifications do I need to start an apprenticeship?

Yes, by partnering with industry employers to provide work experience placements, Motive-Action provides you with direct contact with the employers who offer apprenticeships in the Calgary market.
